Prof. L. Ranganathan, boasts over 22 years of extensive experience encompassing Teaching, Research, Industry, and Administration. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. His academic journey includes a Master Degree from Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, Sriperumbudur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, affiliated with Anna University and a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Manonmaniam Sundarnar University, Tamil Nadu.
Commencing his career in industry as a Production Engineer and Maintenance Engineer from 1998 to 2003, Prof.L. Ranganathan transitioned into academia, holding roles ranging from Lecturer to Professor and Head for Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics Engineering in prestigious Engineering Colleges from 2005 to 2023.
As a dynamic leader, Prof. L. Ranganathan has held various significant positions such as International Conference organizing committee member, Patent filing Incharge, R&D coordinator, NBA and NAAC coordinator, and Chairman and Vice Chairman for central board valuation at Anna University. He has also served as a member of the SAEINDIA Southern Section Mahindra World City Division Management Committee in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Over the past seven years, he has actively coordinated student chapters in organizations like the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) and the Society of Automobile Engineering (SAE). Additionally, he has fulfilled responsibilities as an NSS coordinator, Industrial visit Incharge, and Judge for International Conference Technical paper presentations.
Dr. Ranganathan's academic contributions include guiding numerous undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, publishing over 22 papers in referred International Journals, presenting more than 12 papers in International and National conferences, obtaining one patent, publishing five patents, and completing one consultancy project. He is also a Member of the Advisory Committee of core industries and has facilitated seven Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with industries. Furthermore, he has initiated two Centre of Excellencies (CoE) to enhance students' skills.
A Lifetime Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Dr. Ranganathan is also affiliated with organizations such as ISHRAE and the International Association of Engineers (IAE). His overarching goal is to nurture skilled and disciplined Engineers, fostering entrepreneurship to address unemployment and contribute to the nation's development.
